Seven schools showcase innovations in Gisutech 

"...Galaxy International School Uganda last week launched their first annual science and technology competition with an exhibition of new ideas generated by students.  

The competition attracted both local and international schools, showcasing the result of weeks of focused brainstorming, teamwork and dedicated mentoring in three categories.

The students competed in robotics and the creation of short movies.  The competition, dubbed Gisutech - Galaxy International School Uganda technology, attracted seven schools, including Kampala International School, GISU Jinja and Turkish Light Academy.

The competition saw students exhibit what they called a sustainable house for mobile addicts, where electricity lights are automatically turned off by pressing the buttons on android device. Gisutech director Ibrahim Bitakic said the expo would help open the students’ minds to the unfolding scientific revolution of the 21st century. 

He added that the expo would ultimately develop a passion for learning about science, technology, engineering art and mathematics.

Bitakic added that the annual event would encourage young people to apply their imagination, their passion, and their creativity to technological  innovations that can make a difference in the world...."
